Eye Exams

An eye examination in our office is a comprehensive procedure. A detailed history is obtained; their existing glasses are checked to determine the prescription; visual acuity is obtained and an in depth check on ocular health ruling out all eye disease. Our doctors will determine what prescription will provide you with the clearest vision. Children are checked carefully to rule out amblyopia (lazy eye) and appropriately treated if it is discovered.

Focusing/eye coordination deficits are treated with bifocals or vision training. Adult exams have more emphasis on the detection of disease than focusing/binocular skills. At AZ Eye Health we feel it is very important to thoroughly check the ocular health of both the outside and inside of the eye annually. For this reason we offer the Optomap Retinal imager to every patient. The Optomap allows for a detailed image to be taken of the inner structures of the eye assuring there is no eye diseases or disorders such as: glaucoma, macular degeneration, melanoma or retinal detachment to name a few.
